Since its conception, metawareGames Inc. has been driven by a focus on establishing the most iconic family-friendly titles on the Meta Quest platform. Inspired by the golden era of 90’s gaming, we aim to revive that era by employing the same visual methodologies and practices used by the leading developers of that time. Developing for the Quest requires us to be mindful of the platform’s limitations, being able to work efficiently within strict limitations pushes unique creativity out of a studio.
It seems the general consensus when pertaining to Virtual Reality is the constant theme of weapons is oversaturated. We believe the Quest audience deserves a stronger focus on creativity. To positively contribute to the Meta Quest Platform we are focused on resonating with the wide range of players that make up the Meta Quest audience. Creating titles that can expand the genres not widely explored, and integrating personality, socialization, creative twists, joyful moments, and all-around constant fun.
Additionally, as Meta has advanced its marketing efforts, technology, guidelines, and possibilities, it seems that many developers have not fully utilized these advantages. This lack of innovation doesn’t move us forward. Parents remain unfamiliar with much of the content on the Quest platform, and we aren’t attracting as many creative and skilled developers as we should.
Lastly, the abundance of weapon-centric content on the Quest platform is off-putting. Developers often try to reinvent Fire-arms and melee weapons in various ways, but this approach falls flat. We need to break out of this mold entirely. The Meta Quest Library should not rely largely on displaying the use of weapons. Not because it is not fun, but because we simply can create better.
Ask yourself, “Was virtual reality really created so you experience shooting a pistol ten different ways in ten different games?”
We need titles that leave lasting impressions on families and parental figures—titles they can trust from a development team they can rely on. Our mission at metawareGames is selfless: we aim to reinvigorate the virtual reality developer community, show them how to think differently, and contribute positively to Meta. We believe the effort Meta has put into virtual reality should be showcased by developers who truly care about and respect the brand, and most importantly, the audience. The audience invests their time and money and deserves to feel valued, respected, and entertained. We aim to honor this commitment by delivering titles that provide genuine value.
We strive to be the best for as many people as we can. Our approach is different, and we aim to give the audience experiences that will resonate with them and their families deeply.
